Shelby GT Puts the Pedal to the Metal with Horsepower

Just hearing the word Shelby evokes images of a fast car that's ready to race. Ford's 2018 Shelby GT does not disappoint. It's ready for the road and the track. Here's everything you want to know about the latest Shelby GT inside and out. Performance The 2018 Shelby GT is ready for the track and the road. Ford outfitted it with a non-turbocharged 5.8-liter V-8 engine with 526 horsepower and 429 pound-feet of torque. It also has race-tuned adaptive suspension, brakes set for high performance, and a few different powertrain upgrades. The engine is fairly flexible and accelerates well without any hesitation. The Shelby's true power is very impressive once released, and the sound the engine makes is unlike anything else out there. In driving tests, the Shelby 350 GT proves to handle quite well and is at home on any racetrack or winding mountain road. But it'll also do well as a daily driver outside of its racing performance capabilities. Trims and Features The 2018 Shelby GT comes in two trim levels, the 350 and 350R. The base trim is well-equipped with 19-inch wheels, a six-speed manual transmission, Brembo brakes, adaptive suspension dampers, a Torsen rear differential, and a front-suspension tower brace. Shelby's exterior also features a rear spoiler and diffuser. The 350 GT received refreshed styling on the exterior for the 2018 model year and the vehicle retains the distinctive Shelby look. On the inside, the standard Shelby GT looks as sleek as it does outside. It features Recaro front seats with suedelike inserts, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a 4.2-inch center display, Bluetooth, a six-speaker sound system, smartphone app integration, Sync technology, and two USB ports. However, adding the electronics package as an upgrade is highly recommended on both trims. The Shelby GT 350R comes with a lot of the standard features but is really built for racing. The 19-inch carbon fiber wheels with specialist Michelin tires are also part of the upgrade. It has revised suspension tuning, a carbon-fiber rear wing and front chin splitter on the body. It also lacks creature comforts like air-conditioning and others such as floor mats, the sound system, rearview camera, and a rear seat. These features plus dual-zone climate control, Sync 3 with an 8-inch touchscreen, and an 8-speaker sound system are part of an optional R-electronics package. Smartphone integration is also supported in the Shelby GT. Comfort and Utility Despite being built mainly for speed, the Shelby GT is a comfortable ride for daily driving. The seating is comfortable over long distances and doesn't interfere with the shifting of gears. The cabin is also relatively quiet. The transmission handles almost any road condition with normal or sport mode while maintaining excellent body control. Track mode is also good without being punishing. The car offers decent cargo space and storage, though there isn't a lot designated for small item storage. The 2018 Shelby GT 350 is a fast vehicle built for the track with the horsepower to back it up. Four Cars in Ford's 2019 and 2020 Lineup

As the Ford 2018 lineup is finally in dealerships, many car enthusiasts are curious what Ford has in store for the 2019 and 2020 years lineup. These are some of the upcoming changes you can expect. Ford Edge The 2019 Ford Edge will arrive in dealerships by mid-summer of this year. Not only will the exterior design see a more modern upgrade, but the technological features will also be advanced. The 2019 Edge will also have an additional trim package available, known as the Edge ST. more The Edge will feature a smart-driver assist package that will increase safety, functionality, and technology design. Safety features include many of the same that are currently in the 2018 model but with minor upgrades. The adaptive cruise control option now comes with a lane centering feature. It will also boast an impressive performance with a 2.7-liter V6 Ecoboost engine with a maximum of 335 horsepower and 380 pound-feet of torque. Ford Ranger Unfortunately, we will have to wait until early 2019 to actually drive the 2019 Ford Ranger. But, the upgrades and added attention to the capable drive of the traditional Ford Ranger is well worth the wait. It will feature a 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine with an auto start-stop availability and a 10-speed transmission. The driver assisted technology makes the ride more durable and more entertaining. Use the in-vehicle WiFi hotspot to stay connected, allowing you to connect up to 10 separate devices. There are also three additional trim models available including the XL, XLT, and the Lariat. Ford Transit Connect The 2019 Ford Transit Connect will hit dealerships in early fall. This model has both business and cargo capabilities, but also adds a level of exceptional exterior design. Easily fit up to seven passengers with a flexible interior. Larger vehicles are often not known for stopping quickly. Yet, the pre-collision assist with pedestrian detection feature of the Ford Transit improves the safety of the drive by bringing the vehicle to a full stop when needed. This responsive advanced safety feature can even initiate the stop movement when a pedestrian or potential collision is noticed. Fold the collapsible seats to store additional business cargo. Upgrade to the available storage rack to add even more cargo or your favorite sporting toys to the roof. Either way, you will find the 2019 Ford Transit to be completely customizable and useful for your everyday needs. Ford Bronco The 2020 Ford Bronco is also a highly anticipated Ford vehicle. It has remained one of the leading 4X4 vehicles and the 2020 model is sure to not disappoint. It features upgraded technology and a fully remodeled exterior design. Besides the attention to technology in terms of driver assistance and safety, additional details are still unknown. Fortunately, we should start seeing more details about this 2020 vehicle in the coming months. Many drivers are already awaiting the release of the Ford 2019 and 2020 lineup. California is often referred to as wine country because of its abundance of vineyards and wine tasting destinations. Check out a few of the best wine spots in the San Jose, California, area. Divine Wineries Divine Wineries is conveniently located in downtown San Jose and serves some of the highest-rated handcrafted wines in the entire area. None of their unique wines are available for purchase in local stores and can only be tasted at this winery. They source their wines from the Sierra Foothills, the Santa Clara Valley, and even the Alexander Valley. Reservations are not required and they are open Wednesday through Thursday from 4 to 9 p.m., Friday through Saturday from 12 to 10 p.m., and on Sunday from 12 to 6 p.m. more This winery is within walking distance of nearby hotels, making it a great choice for a full day of wine tasting. Locals can also join the Divine Wineries wine club for just $35 per month. Vino Vino Vino Vino is also a wine tasting destination in downtown San Jose that has 13 different fine wines available. They also serve small plates to pair with your wine tasting. This winery has a simple goal: to provide locals with a no-frills spot to taste local wines, share good food, and get to know their neighbors. This sports bar environment is perfect for a casual wine tasting experience, and you can easily reserve a table online. J. Lohr Vineyards & Wines The history of J. Lohr Vineyards & Wines is not only interesting but is also an important part of the California wine industry. The founder, Jerry Lohr, spent many years attempting to find the right spot for his vineyard. He eventually landed on the central California coast, paving the way for a vibrant wine industry. Both of the J. Lohr locations are open daily for free wine tastings. No appointment is necessary, but larger groups should always call ahead. You can also join the J. Lohr club. Membership includes access to VIP events, brand discounts, and free bottles of wine. Left Bend Winery The Left Bend Winery is just a short drive outside of San Jose in Los Gatos. All of the wines from the Left Bend Winery are sourced from the Santa Cruz Mountains. This windery handles every aspect of the winemaking process, from pre-harvest to bottling. You can order bottles of their wine and join the wine club online. Club members receive complimentary tastings, discounts on wine bottles, and four wine annual shipments of your favorite wines.
